Here’s How I’m Getting Rid of Acne Scars with Banish!
Scroll to the bottom to see before and after pics.
If you’re like me, and perpetually dealing with breakouts that come and go, but leave scars that seem like they never want to heal, you’re going to want to hear about my newest discovery! When I stumbled across cruelty free beauty brand, Banish Skincare, and specifically the Banisher 2.0, I was intrigued! I have had cystic acne my entire adult life, and although I have found ways to significantly reduce the acne (see my previous posts for more on that), it seems like the acne scars are even harder to get rid of.
I’ve tried professional micro-needling, and it makes a difference, but you have to do several sessions to see results, and it’s so expensive...Read More
When I was a kid, if I were told that I’d be writing a book about diet and nutrition when I was older, let alone having been doing a health related radio show for over 36 years, I would’ve thought that whoever told me that was out of their mind. Living in Newark, New Jersey, my parents and I consumed anything and everything that had a face or a mother except for dead, rotting, pig bodies, although we did eat bacon (as if all the other decomposing flesh bodies were somehow miraculously clean). Going through high school and college it was no different. In fact, my dietary change did not come until I was in my 30’s.
Just to put things in perspective, after I graduated from Weequahic High School and before going to Seton Hall University, I had a part-tim...Read More
By now we’ve all accepted the fact that leggings are a staple in everyone’s wardrobe both at the gym and for off-duty life. Am I right? Great. While I’ve consistently seen fashion people step out in a variety of black and neutral leggings with their forward ensembles, there’s a new trend cropping up I wasn’t expecting—and that’s brightly colored leggings.
Yep, in line with the highlighter craze that’s held strong ever since designers from Prada to Tibi showcased vibrant colors on the fall 2018 runways, it seems the look has infiltrated the legging universe now. It’s actually celebrities who are repping the trend the most...Read More
NYX is one makeup brand that has a variety of options when it comes to choosing lipsticks. With so many different formulas and textures, there’s something for everyone. My favourite range of liquid lipsticks has to be the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream since there is a huge 27 shades diversity and I’ve tried a couple of them previously. I also like the NYX Lip Lingerie range, but I wanted to try some different shades this time from the Lip Creams. I thought of trying out the shade Toulouse since it looked quite appealing and I’ll share with you with I feel about it.
Now available in twelve more statement-making shades, NYX Professional’s velvety smooth Soft Matte Lip Cream delivers a burst of creamy color and sets to a stunning matte finish...Read More

FRIDAY, April 19, 2019 (HealthDay News) — If you weren’t already worried enough about what germs lurk in hospitals, a new study shows ‘superbugs’ are common on patients and the things they touch.
Even worse, these bacteria are resistant to multiple antibiotics, the researchers added.
“Hand hygiene narrative has largely focused on physicians, nurses and other frontline staff, and all the policies and performance measurements have centered on them, and rightfully so,” said study leader Dr. Lona Mody. She is a geriatrician, epidemiologist and patient safety researcher at the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor.
“But our findings make an argument for addressing transmission of [superbugs] in a way that involves patients, too,” Mody added in a university news release.
In the study, researcher...Read More
Pants and I have not always seen eye to eye. When I was 5 years old, my commitment to skirts and dresses was such that once, when my mother tried to force me into a pair of pants (that were, in hindsight, totally adorable) for school, I opted for an act of open defiance and decided to march to class in my underwear instead of giving in to the tyranny of trousers.
But one day, a pair of pants caught my attention and I decided to wear them to school, ignoring the “skirts only” rule. Sadly, this stint was short-lived and I was suspended for a week. After making a ruckus over the “no pants for girls” rule, the school changed its dress code and everyone was allowed to wear them.
As I grew up, I became fascinated with the fit of pants...Read More
Thanks to a reliable flock of detail-oriented reviewers, Amazon has become the answer for nearly all of our purchasing queries. From the things you’d expect (household appliances, groceries, books) to the thoroughly surprising finds (fresh flowers, wedding rings!?, bridesmaid dresses), there seems to be nothing that can’t be supplied by the behemoth e-tailer. We spend a lot of office hours inspecting this do-everything site and carefully read through the endorsements of its browsing critics to surface the best goods available, but it was endorsements from two readers that turned our attention towards the site’s swimsuits.
Good Housekeeping also has done some extensive research into the swimwear market and has a good review on different aspects like prices, styles that are flattering t...Read More
