NYX is one makeup brand that has a variety of options when it comes to choosing lipsticks. With so many different formulas and textures, there’s something for everyone. My favourite range of liquid lipsticks has to be the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream since there is a huge 27 shades diversity and I’ve tried a couple of them previously. I also like the NYX Lip Lingerie range, but I wanted to try some different shades this time from the Lip Creams. I thought of trying out the shade Toulouse since it looked quite appealing and I’ll share with you with I feel about it.
Now available in twelve more statement-making shades, NYX Professional’s velvety smooth Soft Matte Lip Cream delivers a burst of creamy color and sets to a stunning matte finish. Designed to be worn with the NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner, each lightweight hue is surprisingly durable and delightfully creamy. Enriched with skin smoothing silicones, these lippies keep your pout looking and feeling soft with a creamy whipped texture. It’s no wonder this sweetly scented formula is a fan favorite.
Packaging – The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Toulouse comes in a plastic tube that is colour coded according to the shade of the lipstick. Honestly, I like such packaging since it makes my life so easier when I have to choose the shade, I want to wear that day.
It comes with a doe foot applicator that makes the application of the lip cream so easy and I can reach all the contours of lips easily. The lip cream also has the name and number of the shade mentioned so it again becomes quite easy to sort out.
Formula and texture – The lip cream, as the name suggests, has a lightweight and creamy formula that doesn’t feel heavy or cakey on the lips. Though the formula is creamy, it dries settles down matte without drying out my lips. Whenever I wear these lip creams, it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing something on my lips.
Swatches – Toulouse is a cool toned greyish mauve with a hint of pink and is such a unique shade. I feel it would flatter on fair to medium skin tones. The shade is almost opaque and applies beautifully in just one swipe. The applicator makes it possible to have a control over the application as well to give the complete colour payoff.
Longevity – The lip cream takes about half a minute to settle and dry down completely on my lips, but most of the liquid lipsticks take time so that’s not of a concern. It stays on my lips for good 5+ hours without consuming any food or drinks.
If I consume any eatables, it starts to fade from the centre a bit. Also, it doesn’t transfer much, which is what I look out for in a lipstick.
Price – The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream costs ?650 for 8 ml which is quite affordable. Since it doesn’t require layering and gives opaque finish I just one swipe, it is required in a lesser quantity.
My overall thoughts:
I have always the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams since they have so many shades to choose from. It comes in 27 different shades with different undertones and every colour you can think of. Talking about this shade Toulouse, it is such a statement making shade but is quite risky to carry off.
If you are looking for a unique shade to have in your vanity and feel you can carry it well, you can totally go for it. I like the shade and will wear it during special occasions. But for the everyday wear, I have other shades from the range that I keep reaching out for when I feel like wearing them.
